Pam Lavoie
Pam retired in 2020 following a 42-year career in nursing. Pam worked as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) and Registered Nurse (RN) in both Saskatchewan and British Columbia during her career.
Pam is quite familiar with lung disease having been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in 2019. Pam has always had a keen interest in research. Following a diagnosis of thyroid cancer in 2004, Pam had the opportunity to participate as a patient in a research project funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that was investigating familial DNA links to cancer.
In retirement Pam is enjoying the freedom to pursue activities like bowling, yoga, and walking her grand ‘fur-babies’ and is excited to be joining Lung Saskatchewan in the role of Community Research Representative. She hopes her nursing career experience and personal experiences will be beneficial and will bring a fresh perspective to the research Lung Saskatchewan is investing in.
Welcome Pam!
