Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan

Lung Foundation Website page

The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan was created in 2002 with the specific purpose of ensuring long-term sustainability for lung health activities in Saskatchewan.  Ensuring financial sustainability is in place to meet the emerging lung health needs of our residents today, tomorrow, and for the generations that follow, was a practice and a legacy that began with founders of the Saskatchewan Anti-Tuberculosis League and the establishment of an endowment fund.

Prior to 2002, Lung Saskatchewan managed the endowment fund. In 2002, Lung Saskatchewan took steps to create an entity that would be better positioned to grow the assets of the organization. The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan was created to steward the endowment fund while Lung Saskatchewan focused its work on education, research, health promotion, and advocacy.

The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan is in place for the purpose of managing an endowment fund to ensure long-term funding for lung health activities in our province.

Lung Saskatchewan delivers lung health education for health care professionals, patients, and caregivers; Saskatchewan-based research investment; advocacy to protect lung health and health promotion to ensure everyone has access to informed and supported choices. Lung Saskatchewan relies on the generosity of donors, partnerships, and grants (including that of the Foundation) to fund its work.
