Dr. Josh Lawson
Asthma and mental health conditions are two of the most important chronic condition sets in childhood. They are common, account for a great deal of health care utilization and costs, impact individual activities and quality of life, and may predict long term outcomes or multimorbidity.
Asthma and mental health conditions are associated and having both can lead to more complicated care and negative health outcomes.
In his study titled Childhood Asthma and Mental Health, Dr. Josh Lawson from the University of Saskatchewan will be investigating the association between childhood asthma and mental health conditions from the perspective of geographic location.
It is the hope of Dr. Lawson that this work will lead to a better understanding of the cause, diagnosis, and management of these conditions, allowing better ways to improve care.
