Mona Eskes
Mona recently retired from a 30-year career at Saskatchewan Polytechnic where she was a Business Program Instructor and a Program Development Consultant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance, General Business) from the University of Saskatchewan.
Mona was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in 2010, sleep apnea in 2015, and was prescribed oxygen for exertion in 2018. Mona hopes to bring a patient perspective to the role of Community Research Representative with her first-hand experience as a lung patient as well as her perspective as a caregiver, having been her late husband’s healthcare advocate for many years. Lung health and lung research are very important to Mona – “research is critical to learn more about preventing lung disease and important in finding treatments that may lead to a cure for lung disease.”
Mona is no stranger to research having participated in research projects for COPD, and sleep apnea, and has previously served as a Citizen Research Reviewer for another health charity.
Welcome Mona!
