Thanks to a terrific health care team, Reid is able to play with his friends, jump on the trampoline, and play soccer despite being diagnosed with asthma, sleep apnea, and chiari.
Reid’s favourite thing to do is play on the monkey bars with his best friend. Thanks to a terrific health care team, Reid is able to play with his friends, jump on the trampoline, and play soccer despite being diagnosed with asthma, sleep apnea, and chiari.
When Reid was a baby, his mom, Josi, noticed he had a lot of breathing problems including snoring while he was awake. Reid began inhalers at a young age for asthma, and had his adenoids and tonsils removed when he was four to help with his sleep apnea. When he had trouble recovering from the tonsillectomy, Reid had an MRI, which revealed chiari. With multiple diagnoses, Josi reached out to Lung Sask for advice and support for Reid’s lung health. This included connecting with one of nurses, and joining the Sleep Apnea and Asthma support groups.
Lung Sask’s cause has always been near and dear to Josi’s heart. Untreated severe asthma resulted in the early death of Josi’s maternal grandfather in the 1940s. Also, Josie herself has asthma, along with her husband. Thanks to the support of our donors, Lung Sask has been able to help those living with lung disease, like Reid and his parents, live their life to the fullest.
