Mona Eskes recently retired from a 30-year career at Saskatchewan Polytechnic where she was a Business Program Instructor and a Program Development Consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance, General Business) from the University of Saskatchewan. She was diagnosed with COPD in 2010, sleep apnea in 2015, and was prescribed oxygen for exertion in 2018. She hopes to bring a patient perspective to the Lung Saskatchewan Board of Directors with first-hand experience as a lung patient and as her late husband’s healthcare advocate. Lung health and lung research are very important to Mona. She has participated in research projects for COPD, sleep apnea and dementia. Research is critical to learn more about prevention and/or treatment that may lead to a cure for lung disease.
