Lung Saskatchewan Awarded SHRF Grant to Develop New Web-based Radon Mapping Tool
Lung Saskatchewan is proud to announce that we have been awarded a Connections Mobilize Grant from the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) to lead the development of a web-based radon mapping tool for the province.
This innovative new resource will be the first of its kind tool. Using radon test data from over 550+ unique locations to create a visual map of radon levels in Saskatchewan. This tool will be accompanied by a detailed report of radon in Saskatchewan. By providing the public with a clear picture of radon risk areas, the new mapping tool will help promote testing and mitigation—key steps in reducing radon-related lung cancer.
Radon gas is in every home, and Saskatchewan has some of the highest radon levels in the world. Radon gas exposure is the second leading cause of lung cancer and is connected to the deaths of over 3,300 Canadians annually.
Test your home for radon. Even if your area is considered low-risk, the only way to know your home’s radon level is to test. Visit www.HomeRadonTest.ca to order your test kit today.
Thank you, SHRF, for investing in lung health innovation.
