Many people think tuberculosis (TB) is a thing of the past, but in reality, millions are still diagnosed with TB every year. Meet Tina Campbell, Registered Nurse, Board Member of Lung Saskatchewan, TB Advisor for the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA), and co-chair of Stop TB Canada. ”I was diagnosed with TB infection after undergoing an occupational health screening required for my nursing school clinical placements. Receiving a TB diagnosis was frightening, since, like many people, I wasn’t aware that TB was still a concern. I was upset and scared about what this meant for my health and my future.” ~ Tina Tina turned her experience into action, becoming a passionate advocate for TB awareness and culturally sensitive care in Saskatchewan. Today, she’s leading the charge in the fight against TB. |
