OFFICE CLOSURE

Please be informed that our office building is still closed until further notice due to a water main break.

NOTE: Jaimie will be away starting January 26 and returns February 8. Any questions about testing will be answered upon her return; emails will be checked infrequently during this time. More urgent questions can be directed to the client's home oxygen company. SAIL can help with any funding status questions.
 
Home Oxygen & Hospitalization

Reminder that continuous oxygen testing CAN be done in hospital as long as it is within 48 hours of discharge. This can be done by oximetry or ABG.

If the hospitalization is for cardiorespiratory illness, exertional and nocturnal testing will have to wait at least 30 days after discharge. If the hospitalization is for non-cardioresp, these tests can be done while the client is in hospital.

NOTE: NIHB testing has different testing standards/timelines.

Renewal Tests & Results
 

A reminder that SAIL renewal test notifications are being sent to the client and to the home oxygen company who will request an order from the physician for home oxygen testers to complete testing.

SAIL would prefer that physicians return the completed SAIL Renewal Application Form with test results to the vendor. Testers - please forward your results to the vendor also.
 
Reminder:  Home Oxygen Online Training Course
 

We are so excited to announce that Home Oxygen Tester Training has transitioned to an online, independent-learning module that can be taken anytime.

Anyone can take the course for 2 HOURS of continuing education credit but, as always, only Saskatchewan Health Authority employees will receive home oxygen tester numbers and certification.

If you are a current tester, you can recertify by completing this online course.
