Unfortunately, many of the older oximeters are slowly dying and not as accurate anymore. We have searched far and wide and can't find any portable oximeters that have an onboard printer. Here are some of the options for future oximeter purchases:
1. Nellcor PM10N This device is highly accurate and costs about $450. View more information here: PM10N overview. It is fairly easy to use but downloading data can be a challenge for those who are not tech savvy. There have been issues with IT struggling to get these set up in some locations. Lung Sask has a couple videos on how to use this oximeter here. - Medtronic is the retailer: Contact is guy.losier@medtronic.com
2. Nonin Wristox 3150 These are the preferred device for nocturnal oxygen testing. They can also be used for continuous and exertional; we are awaiting videos on how to do this testing, please watch for this to come. This machine requires a printer and computer. Reminder that this is only for oxygen testing, not sleep apnea. Cost ranges from $1000-1600 with adult medium soft sensor, plus consumables, depending on where you order from. View more information on the Nonin Website Masimo iSPO2 Some oxygen companies use this oximeter but you need a mobile device so may not be the best device for SHA employees. If you happen to come across a new device that is not listed here, or has an onboard printer, please email jaimie.peters@lungsask.ca
