Perhaps it’s no coincidence that November is Lung Month – the same month in which we pause and take time to remember and thank our Canadian veterans and peacekeepers for everything they have given, and continue to sacrifice, so that we can live freely, safely, and breathe a little easier each and every day.

We are so pleased to have a multitude of great things happening this month; health care professional and community education opportunities, the Breathe and Win Raffle, the Tackle Radon campaign, advocacy for clean air and healthy lungs, and even an opportunity to learn how you can save on taxes and leave important legacies to your loved ones.

I invite you to join us for any and all of these initiatives and we welcome the opportunity to learn more about how we can support you and your loved ones through their lung health journey. Advocating For Lung Health

Working with municipal, provincial, and federal governments to advocate for legislation around issues such as tobacco & vaping, radon, COVID, and air quality is an important part of The Lung Association of Saskatchewan’s mission work. Recently, Jennifer May, VP of Health Promotion & Government Relations for The Lung Association of Saskatchewan and colleague Stephanie Rusu from The Heart & Stroke Foundation, made a trip to Regina to present a nicotine products reduction strategy to the provincial government.

While meeting with The Honourable Paul Merriman, Minister of Health, Minister Merriman proclaimed the month of November 2021 as “Lung Month". Watch our website for more posts about the fantastic work happening at the Lung Association of Saskatchewan during “Lung Month”.
