We are excited to announce ongoing strides in lung health research in Saskatchewan, all thanks to your generous support. Lung Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation have renewed their partnership for another five years, committing $1 million to support respiratory research in Saskatchewan. By joining forces, this partnership ensures that we can tackle the most pressing questions affecting lung health in our province. Thank you for helping to create a healthier future for all. The Inspired Breathing events provide professional education that is responsive, innovative, and centered around partnership. Explore our upcoming webinars for healthcare professionals. Be sure to register and mark your calendars for these insightful sessions. Lung Saskatchewan is able to engage in additionally important work because of the support of donors, partners and funding agencies. We are grateful to the following agencies for their support this past year; Sask Culture – Multi Cultural Initiatives Fund, and the Saskatchewan Council for Archives and Archivists. These two agencies have enabled Lung Saskatchewan to engage in important work in archiving and digitizing thousands of pieces of materials from the Tuberculosis Sanatoria in Saskatchewan in an effort to address #69 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action. This undertaking began in an effort to make information about the journey of an individual or loved one accessible to all. Together with our partners from the Office of the Treaty Commissioner, the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan, historians, and our diverse advisory council, we are grateful to continue this important work. A big thank you to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) for their incredible support of Youth4Change program! Their funding over the past three years has enabled us to exceed our goals in tobacco education, prevention, cessation, and advocacy. We also extend our appreciation to Health Canada for their vital support in our mission to educate and raise awareness about radon in Saskatchewan. Through their funding, we've conducted community presentations, library lending programs, radon testing initiatives, and awareness campaigns, all aimed at safeguarding our community from this silent threat. We are profoundly thankful for these partnerships and their support of our mission. What a spectacular evening we had at the Lung Sask Cabaret! From entertaining performances to delicious food and inspiring stories, it was a night to remember. A huge thank you to our Lung Ambassadors, attendees, donors, partners, and sponsors for their generous support in making this event a success! In case you missed it, our office building has officially reopened following a temporary closure caused by a water main break in January. Feel free to stop by for a visit, or to purchase a radon kit and some raffle tickets. Erin Kuan President & CEO |
